Conference: Diabetes and Cardiovascular Diseases

Conference goal

The overall goal of the conference is to increase the awareness on type 2 Diabetes and Cardiovascular diseases among members of the community, university faculty members, researchers, students and Health care professionals in the UAE. The conference will be an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge between experts and participants about some important topics related to type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the conference, participants are expected to be able to:

• Understand the burden of type 2 diabetes and CVD in the region and worldwide
• Differentiate between micro and macro-vascular complications of type 2 diabetes
• Understand the connection between type 2 diabetes and heart failure
• Recognize the steps toward the prevention of the complications of type 2 diabetes
• Summarize guidelines recommendations for the best management of type 2 diabetes
• Perform cardiovascular risk assessment for primary prevention
