Learning outcomes

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Interpret basic bio-statistical results
  • Explain what a systematic review is and its role in Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM)
  • Formulate clear research questions to design and conduct systematic reviews
  • Demonstrate basic skills in systematic information retrieval and data management
  • Identify the most common reporting standards for systematic reviews and meta-analyses
  • Recognize required principles for literature screening and data extraction for systematic reviews
  • Identify, describe and discuss sources of heterogeneity in meta-analyses
  • Interpret basic meta-analysis principles and methodology
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of how to critically appraise and interpret meta-analyses findings
  • Apply established guidelines to assess a published systematic reviews and meta-analyses critically
